CMS published Flash #2 and Flash #3 on September 25th and October 8th respectively. We have incorporated the changes specified by both of these Flashes into the latest version of our software which can be downloaded at WinLASH 2540 - SNF Medicare Cost Report.
In summary, the changes to the WinLASH 2540 software are as follows:
Worksheet S-2 Part II – Added lines 19-21 for cost report preparer information
Worksheet E Part I Title XVIII – Added line 14.75 which calculates Sequestration for non-claims based amounts. This line is added and calculation occurs only for cost reporting periods which end on or after 5/1/2020. The sequestration calculation exempts days from 5/1/20 through 12/31/20 from sequestration.
Worksheet E Part I Title XVIII – Line 14.99 which was previously a calculated field becomes an entry field for cost reporting periods which end on or after 5/1/2020. (Important Note: a cost report file which previously contained a calculated amount in this field will continue containing this amount after the update. Users should update this field using PS&R data per the updated instructions for line 14.99)
Worksheet E Part I Title XVIII – Line 28.99 – The sequestration calculation is updated to exempt days from 5/1/20 through 12/31/20 from sequestration.
Worksheet G-3 – Added line 24.50 – COVID-19 PHE Funding
Worksheet I-3 – Line 25.01 - The sequestration calculation is updated to exempt days from 5/1/20 through 12/31/20 from sequestration.
Worksheet J-3 – Line 17.01 - The sequestration calculation is updated to exempt days from 5/1/20 through 12/31/20 from sequestration.
